Time Frame :
8:30am: Registration and sign-in with coffee and refreshments in the Venable Gym. 9:30am- 12:15pm: Send off to 19+ Service Projects (9 on site at MCLA and 9 or more at various community sites) 12:30: Free Lunch and Community celebration with speakers, entertainment and presentation of annual MLK Peacemaker Award. Parking available in MCLA lots (Freel Library, behind Hoosac Hall) and nearby streets.

Description:
Join us for the 25th Annual community Celebration in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year's Day of Service and Celebration will be at a new location at MCLA at the Venable Gym.
Skills:
Choose from 17 or more service projects during morning session including: Onsite projects to benefit the community (especially those in need): Blanket Making, Plarning (plastic mat weaving), Mitten and Scarf Making, Feed Bag/Shopping bag creating, Welcome Boxes (new immigrants), Cards of Love (Valentines for nursing home residents), MLK Action writing and discussion workshop, Add Your Voice (letter writing). Outside or offsite community projects: Magic tree wrapping (bringing color and beauty to nearby community, Adams Youth Center, Friendship Food pantry, Collecting Donations for New Immigrants (Stop & Shop), GoodWill, Louison House (homeless shelter), YMCA, Winterizing local homes, First Congregational Church in Williamstown and 2-3 churches in North Adams (final locations TBD).
MLK Martin Luther King Committee
The MLK Committee, under the umbrella of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition is a volunteer led committee that coordinates events that honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The main event is the Annual MLK community celebration on the annual holiday.
