Mission Statement:
Elizabeth Freeman Center is a non-profit, county-wide agency that provides counseling, advocacy, emotional, educational, vocational, and economic services, and fosters social change. We oppose violence, harassment, and discrimination, and we promote the physical and emotional safety of all people. We strive to provide a haven and a communication network for all people, regardless of gender, age, race, color, class, religion, or sexual orientation.

Description of Service:
We provide the following services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault:
- Safety planning
- Emergency shelter for domestic violence victims; mothers and children
- Legal and housing advocacy to sexual assault and domestic violence victims
-Residential services to women in recovery from substance abuse and trauma
Individual counseling, advocacy and support: 24-hour battered victim's hotline, individual and group counseling, walk-in services, court assistance, housing advocacy.

Domestic Violence Services: Help for victims in crisis who are battered and are in need of safety, support, and information as a result of domestic violence victimization.

Support Groups: Survivor's Group,Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault survivor groups, Significant Other Group, Teen Support Group, Rural outreach to adult victims of domestic violence and to their children who have witnessed violence.

Prevention/Education Services: EFC educators are available to speak to students, school staff, parents, civic groups, religious groups, community agencies, and area businesses. Our education and training services address issues related to trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.

Community Education: EFC staff trains community providers in protocols to ensure the safety of victims. Providers training is offered to health care, educators,and criminal justice professionals. Topics include domestic violence and family violence, sexual assault, legal considerations and trauma.
